Unread post by saygoodbyeDMB » Wed Nov 27, 2002 2:53 pm

My question is..... Is the fingering to play the songs similair? i mean i can move my fingers for those songs but is stone and satellite just that hard???? :) i'm just trying to make convo here, take care all

Well, both those songs have a strech, satellite especially, the stone takes great rhythm to get down, but satellite depends more on practice practice practice, with time you should be able to get bothd own.

If you can do Warehouse alright, you should be able to Satellite pretty easily. The way I learned it, I just played it really slow to start out with until I memorized it, and then just got progressively faster. The stretch isn't so bad, it's sort of like Warehouse, and the pattern is pretty simple.

The Stone is tougher because the stretch is a little harder and you have to be very fast.

Just spend about a half hour with Satellite and you should be able to get it down.

i find it easier to play satellite this way:

Code: Select all

Intro/Verse
E:-------------------------------------------------
B:-------------------------------------------------
G:---------3--------------------------------------
D:-----------------6-------5-----3--------6------
A:-----6-------4------3---------------4------3----
E:-4--------------------------8-------------------
   2 4 1 2 4 1 3 4 1 2 4 1
numbers under the tabs are the fingers...actually i always play satellite that way

I used to play it that way, 'cause it was easier but I learned it the other way after that. the way you have it, I tend to hit the d string often times instead of the g which used to piss me off, so at least the traditional way, you only deal with three strings. But you're way is easier on the fingers - less stretch.
good, and you?

that was the way that i taught myself to play satellite and then everytime i would see a tab i would be like "that is not how you play it(the 4-6-8 way)" and then i saw dave play satellite on live at the ten spot and he barred it at 3rd fret and then i got really confused. then i learnd the 4-6-8 way and then the barred way and now i can play the damn song while wackin' off.......just kidding(i need both hands to do that :o )
