Too Much Jam

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Too Much Jam

Unread post by DmbFanJason » Sun Oct 06, 2002 6:51 pm

I first want to say jkanter, upon further review....I think that you are right about satellite! I looked at the farmaid video and it seems like he does play the 5 and 6 strings on the 6th fret...good job...so, I have some suggestions about Too Much's jam however...
E:------------
B:------------
G:----5--4p5 should it not be this way? what does "p" mean anyway?
D:------------
A:------------
E:-/5----------

E:------------------------------------------
B:------------------------------------------
G:-5-------5----/5------5-------5--4p5---
D:-x-------x-----x-------------------------
A:-3----/7-7----/5-------------------------
E:--------------------3-------5-------------

I looked on the carson show for this suggestion...check it out! If anyone else would like to give their thoughts on this I'd appreciate it!...
The only reason I have so many questions or suggestions about the tab on this site is because I play some of these songs a certain way that is different from what is posted...It's obvious that I can, "Play whatever I want". The thing is, is that if I am playing a song wrong, I want to know about it and make sure of it...by no means am I invalidating the tabs here, I know that they are the best, I just want to know if I need to be corrected or not. peace out.

for the g-string, after u slide on the low E, its kind of like DIDO, using the quick finger placements... heres the jam tab..

E------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------
G--------5-4-5---5-----5--5----4-----------------
D-----------------x-----x---x---------------
A-----------------3----/7---5-----------------
E-----/5--------------------------3-----------

After the third time, play this

E-----------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------
G---------5-4-5----5--------------------------
D-------------------x-----5----4---5---4-----2-----
A-------------------3-----x----x---x---x-----2----
E----/5-------------------3----2---3---2-----0----

I would have to disagree with that...esp the last part...the last part seems like this more:

E:---------------------------
B:---------------------------
G:-5---4---2---4--2--------
D:-x---0---0---0--0----2----
A:-3---------------------2---
E:------3---2---3--2----0---

As for this part:

E:------------------------------------------
B:------------------------------------------
G:-5-------5-----5------5-------5--4h5---<---he just hammers onto 5
D:---------x-----x-------------------------
A:-3----/7-7----/5-------------------------
E:--------------------3-------5-------------

real quick....I just checked out the farm aid video. I had tabbed out most of the jam tabbed out before farm aid came out. But I looked at your suggestions and he DOES hammer onto 5 instaed of pull onto 4. And he also slides to eht 5 on the A and not teh E. enjoy....peace
