Lost Acoustics What You Are

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Lost Acoustics What You Are

Unread post by sbhanot » Mon Jul 14, 2003 11:59 pm

Hey, I'm having some problems with this one - Its standard tuning on this version right? - anyway, I'm having problems with the "What you are.... is the beast in the lovers arm... etc." part of it....I get most of the rest of it - if someone who knows how to play this standard has a recording of it or any advice on how to play it solo in standard tuning, I'd love the help. Thanks!

Is it different from this tab? > http://www.dmbtabs.com/song.php?sid=58&tid=83

This always sounded right to me:

Chorus
Don't play last chord when returning to Verse or Fill
E:---------------------------------
B:---------------------------------
G:---------------------------------
D:-7-----7-----7-----10---9--7--6--
A -x-----x-----5-----x----x--x--x--
E:-5-----3-----x-----8----7--5--4--

I don't really have problems with the chorus part or the verse really, but its the bridge, which seems to have hammers or slides or something, I just can't get it.... its that "What you are.... DUM... DUM DUM DUM DUM DUUUMMMM.... is the Beast in the lovers arms....etc." Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

The part I was talking about was this part......

Break Down/End
E:------------------
B:------------------
G:-3--------1-------
D:-4--------2----1--
A:-4--------2----2--
E:-2--------0----2--

I think it sounds better like

New Break Down/End
E:------------------
B:------------------
G:----------1----4--
D:-4--------2----4--
A:-4--------2----2--
E:-2--------0-------

What do you think?

The original is correct, according to my official "Everyday" tab book. Plus, the original has the chord pattern descending, while yours is ascending. Kanter's is good...but your's would make a nice counterpart.

Yeah, kanters sounds good with the everyday disc, but I guess for solo play, the one I posted seems a bit less out of place, for me at least. Anyway, thanks for the help!
