Which guitars does he use on the 9/11/99 concert (listener supported), and on 4/22/07 (radio city D&T)?

I seem to remember him being pictured in the Listener Supported liner notes with the DM3MD. Don't know about the other.

I believe at RC he used the 714 for raised B tunes and the DM3MD for others (I haven't watched in a while).

He used his DM3MD for Listener Supported, with the Chet as a backup (seen onstage but not played).

For RC, he used his 714, his Jerry Jones, his DM3MD, and his HD-28V (he used this one more than the DM3MD oddly). You can tell the difference between the DM3MD and the HD-28V by looking at the headstock and seeing if it is once piece (HAD-28V) or 3 (DM3MD).

its the GS 8, which is a fantastic guitar....i own an HD28v and it is a DREAM, i am dying for DM3MD, but i doubt i will ever get my hands on one of those.

I know for the RC show, as many have noted, he plays a variety of guitars, however, about 2/3 of the time (yes, I have done the math out of curiosity), he plays the HD-28V. Why over the DM3MD many ask? Because it blows away the DM3MD in terms of sound. I currently own the following Martins: 2 HD18JBs (Jimmy Buffetts), HD-28V, DM3MD, and D-16GT. Funny enough, the DM3MD sounds closest to the D-16GT; a guitar that goes used on the street for less than $1,000. While the DM3MD is a great guitar, construction wise, it is a 16 Series Martin with some extra bling, Dave's signature, and a limited run. I have had the privelage of playing a few different DM3MDs and they are very consistent guitars, so mine is not a dud; rather its just the nature of the beast.

Don't get me wrong...the 16 Series Martins and the DM3MD are great sounding guitars, but they just aren't in the same league as the HD-28V in terms of sound. If anyone is thinking of buying one for the sound, there are many alternates out there that sound way better, including the HD-28V (which not-oddly enough, Dave plays more frequently than his own limited edition). However, if you are a huge Dave fan with a large bank roll, expect to shell out over $6k for one. I got a decent price on mine a few months ago, but one just went on Ebay for $6,800. Ridiculous price tag in my mind for that guitar, particularly with so many better options available.

Yep, pretty much, although I thought it was interesting that he used his DM3MD for Farm Aid 2008, but his HD-28V for Farm Aid 2006 and 2007.

Another way besides the three piece headstock is that his DM3MD always has white bridge pins and his HD-28V always has black bridge pins. They both come stock with cheap platic, white bridge pins, but he switched to bone bridge pins in his DM3MD and ebony/abalone bridge pins in his HD-28V.

Yo guys. Biggest Dave fan Aive Here!! Question SHould I get Dave's 914ce (not Brazilian Rosewood) or A Martin D-41 Special? The Only reason I would Consider this MArtin is Beacause it is Bascially Daves Hd-28V But better and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! Help me out out here !!
