I agree. There was thread about this over at Ants..org and the thread starter was arguing that Crash was the perfect love song. but its more about teenage infatuation and general hornyness if you ask me. I still love the song though. Something can be said for Lover Lay Down and Crush but they arn't quite as soft and beautiful as IBYU for the whole song. I love the timmy solo on R2T. I can play that one :P :P

actually Loving Wings is a good one too.

peace,
Ken

me too. A lot don't like it because it was overplayed this summer but I still like it. He used to finger pick it eh? but now he strums it and sounds good but maybe too loud for a perfect love song. The solo (if you wanna call it that) part sounds better strummed than finger picked I find.

I fingerpick it because I think it sounds better that way and I think if you tool around with the solo part you can make it sound better fingerpicked too

I just noticed there's no tab of wayg up...it seems like that would be the easiest because it's not complicated and there are a bunch of high quality videos

yeah, I play it fingerpicked as well cause it has more of Grace is Gone feel to it. kinda sombre and sweet. I been playing quite a bit with out a pick since I learned Everyday about two years ago. I almost prefer strumming with my finger nails then a pick. but for some songs you pretty much need a pick. It's all good though.

I've heard quite a bit of it...some of it though I just can't get into to...something about it...sometimes I just think people do too much with the acoustic guitar, as in, not giving it enough room to breathe and I'm very, very particular about the electric stuff I listen to as i'm not the biggest electric fan to begin with

personally, I like Crush better. I think it's an incredible song with amazing emotion. Espeically D+T style (i.e. Storytellers) or solo like done on Farm Aid 02.

the reason I think WAYG and IBYU are better love songs then crush, lld, and others is because they're not so much about the selfish aspect of it and more what he can do for them...walk where you like your steps, do as you please, I'll back you up, your heaviest weight is strung around my neck...are you looking for answer, for questions under the stars, well if along the way, you are growing weary, you can rest with me until the light of day, I am no superman, I have no answers for you, I am no hero, but where you are, is where I'm gonna be...I just think that's cool, but that's just me...

IBYU is good but I REALLY like Crush. I agree that Crash is a bit too obsessive, WAYG is awesome too.
