For anyone having trouble strumming the warehouse verse

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

For anyone having trouble strumming the warehouse verse

Unread post by davefan01 » Tue Oct 07, 2008 5:48 pm

Ive been trying to get warehouse to sound right for the longest freakin time now. Ive finally settled on a strumming pattern that Im happy with, just thought someone else might want it. So I've literally spelled out the strumming pattern.

Now keep your strumming consistant. Your hand should be constantly strumming up and down at the same speed.

B:-x--x--x--x-x-x--x-x-x----x--x--x--x-x-x--x-x--
G:-x--x--x--7-x-x--x-x-x----x--x--x--7-x-x--x-x--
D:-x--x--11---9-x--x-x-x----x--x--11---9-x--x-x--
A:-x--9---------10-x-x-x----x--9---------10-9-7--
E:-7---------------x-x-x----7--------------------

First 7 - Down and Upstrum

First 9 - Down and Upstrum

11- Down and Upstroke

Second 7 - Down stroke, and then upstroke the next 9.

The following Down and Upstrum dont hit any strings, or hit mutted strings.

And the 10-9-7 series I do all Down strokes.

Thats how I do it. Im sure some veterans will know better but thats what I got for it.

Actually Im not sure I strum up on the 11. I like to hold the 7and 9 though, to give it a 'full' sound. But thats probably not technically accurate.

for what its worth... down and up for the first 7,9,11... then down mute(or nothing) .. up 7 down and up on 9,10 ... just down on the 9 and 7...

lolz. There are so many extra mutes in there that would be useless to tab. you just have to match sounds
