Raise B
Obviousally everyones strings break when they try and do this including mine. I just got my guitar restrung and they are the most flexible strings in the store however they dont recommend me doing the tuning. this is my beatup guitar bec my taylor is my precious baby. you all get your guitars to raise B right? it shouldnt break the strings if if you have the right strings correct?

I just did this to one of my acoustics, and its funny, because the instructions on this site say it is less string tension, but when I got done stringing and tuning the strings were REAL tight, it kinda hurts to even hold a chord, but it does sound close to correct, and you can play stay or leave with open chords. If you only have one guitar, I wouldnt bother with this tuning.

Raised B tuning ABOLUTELY needs to be done with different strings than you'd play standard tuning with. Follow the directions on the site above - basically you just move all the strings up one, throw away the low E string, buy an extra B string, and put it where the high E used to go
The site does say that the tension is less than standard tuning, which is inaccurate - technically the lowest 5 strings are all 2 half-steps higher than the same string is on standard tuning, though the low B string is actually the same as on a standard tuned guitar
use light strings, as the little bit of extra tension can be somewhat avoided, and thus you can save your guitar from having to fight the strain of more tension

I've had a guitar in Raised B with extra lights for over two months and it's fine. It's not a $1900 Taylor 914 but it's holding up okay.
Don't use Mediums or Lights unless you plan on releasing the tension after each time you're done playing.
And Raised B rocks. Hundreds of times better than a Capo.

Just buy the most expensive set of standard guitar strings in the store and tune it up seven steps.
