So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Hello there,
I am inquiring about the guitar Dave uses on DDTW and Crush. It seems like the cutaway is alot less curvy then the standard tuned Taylor 914-ce he uses. Is it a different guitar, or just a different cutaway?
Thanks!
Zach

He's playing the same model of guitar (Taylor 914ce) but the one he keeps in Drop D has a Florentine cutaway, instead of the Venetian cutaway he uses on the standard tuned guitars.

Found it...its the 914ce after all, just with a Florentine cutaway. He also uses it on Last Stop.

sometimes when I pick up my guitar to play it the strings get a muffled sound. Then I LOL and realize that the pick is in there.
