What about it would you like to simplify? It's not a hard song.

I suppose you could play an abbreviated version of the chords. Like, instead of

Code: Select all

X
X
10
7
8
10
you could play

Code: Select all

X
X
10
X
8
10
and similar formations for the other chords. It makes the stretches not so "stretchy" because you eliminate the 5 of the chord.

I thought it was pretty self-explanatory.

yeah, but I think what he's getting at is that the chord is actually played like this in the tabs on the site

Code: Select all

E:-----
B:-----
G:-10--
D:-x---
A:-8---
E:-10--

Hm. I guess I assumed Dave played the full chord since he does for nearly all of his other songs involving that chord shape. It would make sense that he does, since in the videos I've seen, he his fretting hand is in that position, and it would be just as easy to hit the 5 with your index finger than to not hit it at all.

If I'm wrong, my apologies.

--X-------X-------X------------------------------------
--X-------X-------X------------------------------------
--10------8-------3-----------------------------------------
