So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Tips for Two Step

Unread post by PilotC150 » Fri Nov 15, 2002 4:15 pm

I'm having problems with the Chorus riff. I always seem to get off what from JKanter has posted here. I got the verse and intro and everything else, but the chorus....

Any tips? Or maybe any solo recordings? Audio or Video would be helpful.

tenacity, just play it over and over, play along with the red rocks outro, makes it fun, it's not too hard if you just drill it in

The Live @ Luther version is good to learn from and practice along with.

E:------------------------
B:------------------------
G:-2------9---3-----7----- I use my 4 finger for the 9,3,and 7 notes.
D:-3------x---x-----x-----
A:-3------7---1-----5--x-- I use my 1 finger for the 7, 1 and 5 notes.
E:-1----2\8---3---2/6--5-- I use my 2 finger for the 8 and 6 notes, my 3 finger for the 3 note and my 1 finger for the two 2 notes.

E:---------------------
B:---------------------
G:-2------7----5----3--
D:-3------x----x----x--
A:-3------5----3----1--
E:-1----2\6----5----3--

If the above is confusing you, here are the fingers I use for each chord

7,9-4
x,x
5,7-1
6,8-2

3,5-4
x,x
1,3-1
3,5-3

I hope this helps you out at all.

peace,
Ken

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.

Oh my god I love this song. I was just watching the Listener Supported DVD and Ive never even tried to play two step before but I was jammin to some other songs and then it cam on and I got the tabs from this site and started playing along with Dave and by the end of the song I could play the verse and the chorus almost perfectly. I thought warehouse was fun to play, this is the coolest song Ive learned yet, I love playing two step. I suggest you get a video of dave playing it if you dont have one, it worked for me instantly and its worth it, this songs kicks ass!!

Thanx. I think I got it now. JKanters tab confused me cuz the second line of the Chorus should actually be Chorus End.
