Ants Marching Intro/Outro (live)

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

For the live intro, do you know what dave begins to strum after he plays down the neck a few times? And on the outro when the violin is soloing, what exactly does dave play? Thanks

They're 9 chords. the beginning i'm pretty sure he's playing a D9 (x54555).

for the outro, it's G and D, but those higher pitched notes are also 9 chords. D9 (above) and G9 (x109101010)
