Bartender live

I noticed at last night's show, during the Bartender jam, Dave was playing around with different chords and notes higher up, maybe the D and G strings or so, higher up near the 10-12 frets maybe? He was changing chords a lot, looked like some hammer-ons maybe...I was wondering if anyone knew of a tab of the live version of Bartender including Dave's jam that I'm talking about...thanks!

I haven't seen last nights show, but you can form the same chords (in this case, D and G, during the jam) all along the neck. For example, the standard , open positions are shown on the site:

A:---------5------5----------
D:---------------------------

You can also play the same chords up higher, for example:

d-12-----12-

d-0------0-

Those are just a very few of the MANY chord voicings (different ways to play a chord) you can choose from.
A great tool for finding chords is looknohands.com: http://www.looknohands.com/chordhouse/g ... ex_rb.html. Just click on the root note, and the type of chord you want and it'll spell out (give you the notes needed to form the chord, for example a D chord is composed of the notes D F# and A) the chord for you in all the possible voicings along the neck. A Great program. Anyway, hope I was of some help to you.

I have a question as well. I'm trying to figure out what the counts are when Dave goes crazy for a second and does that wicked fast strum on D (2-3-2) I believe..? I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about....at least I hope.

Are you talking about the studio version or some live version?

During the studio version jam it sounds like the count is

1 and uh 2 and (3) ee and uh 4 and uh

for each chord. I don't know if you'll understand how to count sixteenth notes, but 1 quarter note is split up into four notes (each a sixteenth note), which you count: one-ee-and-uh two-ee-and-uh etc. (The counting for the strumming pattern: the 1 is an eighth note, the 'and' a sixteenth note, the 'uh' a sixteenth note, the '2' an eighth note, 'and' an eighth note, the 'ee' a sixteenth note, 'and' a sixteenth, 'uh' a sixteenth, '4' an eighth, 'and' a sixteenth, 'uh' a sixteenth).

I'll record myself strumming the pattern and upload an mp3 for you.

No....I know how to play it.

I'm talking about (Live). Right after Dave is done screaming like the devil and we all get our chills on the lawn and in the pavilion... :wink:

Right when they bust into the jam at that point....when Dave stays on the open D sometimes he strums EXTREMELY fast for literally 1 or 2sec.

I tried counting them out friday night, but he did it so randomly. Hopefully you know what I mean now. Even if not, I'll just do it every 8 counts or somethin for the fuck of it, but I'm still curious what Dave's counts are.
