I got the intro down with ease last night, but i have a question with the next part. How do you put your hands for the 68x5 part?? For some reason this is an akward part for me. Thanks for the help

It is kind of akward. I still stutter a bit sometimes changing into that chord.reads11 wrote:I got the intro down with ease last night, but i have a question with the next part. How do you put your hands for the 68x5 part?? For some reason this is an akward part for me. Thanks for the help
Use your middle finger on the 6th fret, pinky on the 8th, which also mutes the D string, and your index on the 5th fret. Use the exact same fingering for the following chord. Repeat until comfortable.

an easy way to get that chord is to leave your index finger on the G string as you transition from the D chord to it. you can use that finger as sort of an anchor while you get your other fingers in place.

you could also try playing it the way this alternate tab has it...

The chords shown in that tab are the exact same notes as the ones dave plays just in a different voicing.

i never said it was easier to grab...Easy E wrote:haha, that chord is a lot easier
my method is foolproof

but if hes having trouble getting his pinky down, then for the chord in that tab he could even leave the bottom note off and not use his pinky at all. But the way you suggested is alot easier, its the way ive always done it too.

Thats exactly how i play it. I watch my placement on the low e with my middle finger and the pinky and index fall into place for me.Easy E wrote:an easy way to get that chord is to leave your index finger on the G string as you transition from the D chord to it. you can use that finger as sort of an anchor while you get your other fingers in place.
