Dave's Guitar effects

Unread post by magic2584 » Sat Jul 15, 2006 8:11 pm

I did a search and could not find any answers. I was just wondering if anyone new what effects dave uses for his electric songs. ie. space between, JTR etc. I'm an acoustic player and just got an electric, so I wanted to mess around a little bit. Any help would be appreciated.

He uses a 12 string Taylor acoustic on JTR and a baritone electric guitar on Space Between. I have no idea what effects he uses.

you're right, i totally forgot about the 12 string; I meant louisiana bayou. Just curios about the effects ie. distortion, chorus and whatever else he uses? I'm just trying to re-create those sounds.

Funny thing, after G Love had performed they took down all their equipment and cleaned everything. To my suprise, they had a woman that swept the stage.....Boy would I love to be that lady that does that.

just use a little overdrive to give it a crunchy sound. Its not much more than that.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Go to http://www.davematthewsband.com and click on "ROAD." There's a link somewhere in there to ask the road crew questions. Sometimes they take awhile, i asked them a question and got an answer about a month later.

Despite my sarcastic answer, I actually searched the Road section for about 10 minutes and couldn't find anything. I think they might have taken the link down. I couldn't even find old answers.

Swept, as in with a broom? Weird, every Dave concert that I've gone to early the stage manager has vacuumed the stage. I didn't see him this year though, but I wasn't there as early as usual.

If you dont have effects pedals you can still overdrive your amp by cranking the volume to full but putting the master volume low.

edit: thats a bit confusing, what type of amp do you have?
