as i posted on ufck. dave obviously plays this differently (high D tuning, equivalent to capoing the 10th fret) but given the source we have now, here's the best way to emulate that sound on a standard tuned guitar. nothing too complicated, but it's a lot of fun to play.

sit on that final chord emphasizing the highest strings for an extra beat or two before the next verse begins.

use the pre-chorus pattern to transition back to the chorus/ending jam.
you can play the final jam with roi's melody like this:

to sound closest to what dave is playing, try to bring out the B and E strings at the high end of the guitar (especially on those chords held at the end of the verse and chorus riffs). should have a spacious stay or leave-esque sound at this moments.

if it were a full octave up you'd be right, but it's not. it's an octave - M2 higher. this song is in F, but if you watch the video closely dave plays it on his guitar in G.

or, you could think of it as an octave higher than standard tuning dropped down two steps.

I was messing around with different chords to try to get a fuller sound since it sounds like a 12 string to me, try this out and see what you guys think...

Capo 5 Standard tuning...

tell me what you think of that for the chorus. It's late and I only listened to it about 5 times so it's close, play around with those chords, they give a fuller sound... I have not tried the other parts, the tabs above seem to work preatty well, I might try some other combo's tomorrow...
