I know this has been discussed at length, but I am having trouble with the muting after the D and G strum during the verse. My impulse is to hit a downstum, pause, upstrum and then a downstrum mute. I'm trying to listen to Dave play it but am just not catching on. I haven't been able to find an instructional video (if anyone can point me to one or help me out with one that would be great). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.
after the d, which you hit with a downstrum, your next upstrum should be muted along with your next downstrum, then go to that little 4/5 run. Same with the G chord.
The best video ive seen is the second part of the storytellers with Tim Reynolds from 1999ish. The camera is right on his hands and guitar.
remember to just never stop moving your right hand, it never pauses, most of the work is done with the left hand.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
