Yea its a Jerry Jones copy of Danelectro's U1 series guitars, looks pretty much the same just the body and pickguard are shaped a bit different to prevent lawsuits by Dano. Although I could have sworn when I saw them live recently that Dave used a actual Danelectro U1, at least it looked like it, I was too far away to see the headstock writing

For that matter I think the same could be said for his acoustics too. IMO there's cooler guitars than Martin/Taylor. However, I would guess he's past the age where he's caught up in having what's "cool", he drives a station wagon for cryin'out loud.paulaitchison wrote:if hes playing it in standard now, and he has all that money, i would get a cooler guitar.

Then replace cooler with nicer in my previous post.Kahn wrote:I think he means "nicer"hcole wrote:For that matter I think the same could be said for his acoustics too. i would want some rare gibson from the 60's or something, then have his team of guitar tech's reset it and get pick ups to suit his style of playing.
slightly of subject. but i would love to see the chet back for a tour. it sounded more tinny, scratchy and aggressive, it always sounded distinct, now i feel that the big body guitars blend into one complete band sound and dont stand out as much.

I don't think he is tuning his bari's up. For example, in bayou he just slides the intro riff up five frets and and verse line moves from the 5/6th strings to the 4/5th. I *think* all the SU songs he plays on the bari can be adjusted in some way or another to play in the lower tuning.Beauford33 wrote:Jerry Jones Baritone....that is tuned to standard now.

Yes, except that all of the videos with him using his Jerry Jones for stand up songs show him playing the same positions as if it were in standard.Runner731 wrote:I don't think he is tuning his bari's up.
