Christmas Song

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Christmas Song

Unread post by KevinGTArch » Fri Nov 08, 2002 1:30 am

First of all I'd like to say this is my first time back to dmbtabs.com in quite awhile and I must say I am BLOWN away. Thanks to everyone for making this site as resourceful and helpful as it as ever been!

When I'm not busy goofing around with school or my humble college band I'm also working as the music coordinator for our campus' Catholic center. While I know its still a ways off, I am planning on creating an arrangement of Christmas Song to be played during the Christmas celebration. The instruments involve a wide variety including alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, violin, viola, cello, piano, and on and on. Suffice it to say the guitar tabs and chords I have for this song won't exactly be helpful for all the other instruments.

What I REALLY need to make this happen is a copy of the actual sheet music containing some semblence of a melody. To my knowledge there is no sheet music book for "Remember Two Things" but there is one for "Live at Luther". If ANYONE can confirm this OR has this book and can scan the music for me I would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm really excited about trying this arrangement with such a wide variety of instruments but we're going to need to start practicing soon. If anyone can help me with the sheet music or has any other creative ideas please feel free to post! Thanks!

Peace,

Kevin

Yes, Christmas Song is in the L@LC tablature book. I have it if you still need scans of the pages, though technically I think it would be copyright infringement for me to give it to you :D But who's counting? Let me know.

Sean

BTW: Nothing like a good Catholic christmas show including such fun filled lines as "when Jesus Christ was nailed to his tree"

I had thought about the "when Jesus Christ was nailed to his tree" line in the midst of a Christmas celebration but the song IS about his entire life so I found it somewhat fitting. Though I do have mixed feelings about the "drink this wine and dream it will be the blood of our children all around". Someone expressed concern that this could be interpreted as the blood that will be spilled in His name for wars, etc. which could darken the spirit of the evening. I can think of a few other interpretations but I'm considering a minor re-write to avoid any problems.

If you could scan those pages in for me I would REALLY appreciate it. I don't feel the burning desire to purchase the L@LC book since I know how to play most of the songs or know where to find better tabs for the music. Let me know how you want to set this up - I have e-mail and AIM. Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it!

Peace,

Kevin

The scanner is all f**ked up and I don't have access to one other than this one :(

I think it only cost me like $20 or something at guitar center.

Sorry about that.
