i have a similar..sort of reverse problem. when i play that chord further down on the neck, like the 31x3xx chord in the Stone, i end up muting the A string accidentall with my ring finger, the one fretting the 3 on the E string, and i end up with a chord that is 3xx3xx.
is there any way to fix that?

"Forget about what you are escaping from," he said, quoting an old maxim of Kornblum's. "Reserve your anxiety for what you are escaping to."

I don't wanna sound redundant, but yeah I know how to solve your problem, practice, practice, practice. I had the same problemo and after a while, you figure out how to position your fingers slightly different than just sloppin them down on the 10 8 x 10 chord for example.

one way to do that is to give a very slight bend of the A string, towards the D string, just enough so that it is out of the way of the third fingerJay wrote:i have a similar..sort of reverse problem. when i play that chord further down on the neck, like the 31x3xx chord in the Stone, i end up muting the A string accidentall with my ring finger, the one fretting the 3 on the E string, and i end up with a chord that is 3xx3xx.

I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...
