Dave has alien hands

Unread post by Grachi » Fri Sep 02, 2005 3:15 pm

Captain Verse:

E:-------------------
B:-4-----------------
G:-1----4----7----6--
D:-2----1----4----2--
A:-4----2----5----4--
E:------4----7----5--

I tried as hard as I could my fingers just won't stretch that much. I bent my elbow in as far as it could go too. Is there any alternative chord? I can do the other 3 but this one is impossible...

I wish I had big hands :(

are your hands pretty small compared to other people? I just tried it and its not that bad of a stretch, and I havent played guitar lately at all.

Just mute the D string. It won't sound as full, but it'll do.

Code: Select all

E:-------------------
B:-4-----------------
G:-1----4----7----6--
D:-2----1----4----x--
A:-4----2----5----4--
E:------4----7----5--
And Jayme, I agree that it's a pretty big stretch. It's pretty much the same as that Billies stretch.

just keep stretching. you'll get it eventually. the more you play the more your fingers stretch.

yea I play PNP but it's not a stretch like that one at all. No my hands are normal. They just aren't long and lanky.

Yea muting the D string works really well actually thanks for the tip.

I've been playing dave songs and stretches for awhile so I don't maybe this is like some supreme stretch or something. I went back and tried it and I made the stretch, but it sounds horrible and muted cuz my hand is in the most awkward position just to get it right.

freaking stretches

i think it's similar to Billies stretch.
the only way to get that stretch is to move ur hand from the 7547 to the 5426 taking all the time u need to get the position, then speeding it up a lil bit, and so on.

personally, i think Crash is still the best (worst) bitch b/c u have to stay in the same position forever...anyway, a bit of practice is all u need

PNP is way easier.

x
x
6
2
4
5

That chord formation is like 20 times easier than

x
x
5
2
3
5

Especially if its played where the first Captain chord is... I can't hit it cleanly at all. :(

For me anyway.
