that short riff in the beginning of LIOG...
E:-2--------x-----------------------------

G:-2--------x-----------2--------4--4----
D:-0--------x--0--2--4-----4-------------
A:----4--2--x-----------------------------
E:----------x-----------------3---3--3----
alright, the part I want is the little alternate riff that comes instead of that G something-or-other at the end. Im talking about the one that comes 8 seconds into it (always played live too), the second go-through. Its like 'bah-BAH-DAHDAH (DAHDAH being the D-strum that starts the whole thing over again). This is SO simple Ill be laughed at, but I can live with that; I just cant seem to hit it right, and even though its obviously a second guitar that plays it theres not reason why I shouldnt play it myself.
Sorry I cant be more specific than this, and sorry I cant figure it out for myself; Ive just started playing again for the first time in years, and while the basics are coming back to me (and some things better than before, strangely enough) I still cant pick anything out myself worth a shiat.
thanks

thats the part that comes at the end of the verse, I know that one; the one Im looking for is sort of an alternate to the ...

4--4-- (to left is how I play it, 4---4--

3--3-- ------
...at the end of each line. Go and listen to the song, youll see what I mean. It doesnt always end on what I have above; theres a groovy little rising thing that that goes D - E - F#, the F# being part of the D that starts the whole thing off again.

yeah it sounds like shane has it right, and if that is it, it is not a second guitar, it's dave...but, you say that it comes in after 8 seconds, so i am thinking you are talking about a little fill that tim may be putting in there....there are always different ones of those...

its sheet music, but it also has tabs. so you have time measure and exact frets. only thing its missing is finger positioning

sometimes there are fingerings...especially when they show the chords at the top of the page...i was very surprised that in the crash book let you down is exact except for one chord...and cry freedom is about 95%correct.

yeah but if you are paying for a tab book it should be exact. why put up money for this book just to come and check the tabs on a site like this. Doesn't make sense...billywestom wrote:i was very surprised that in the crash book let you down is exact except for one chord...and cry freedom is about 95%correct.

Thanks, DMBFreak84, thats definitely the one I needed. Never seen it posted on any tab site, but its so good and such a part of the song I never understood why.
And as far as tab books go: I used to buy them, back in the pre-internet days (along with Guitar World, where for every one SRV song I could find 3 tabs for 'hot for teacher' = ), but now with sites like this one theres really not much need. Not trying to kiss ass, but this site really is about the best dmb tab site Ive found. All I can say is: add more videos! Those're groovy, even when I dont need them = )
