Question about JTR intro

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Question about JTR intro

Unread post by TheGuyThatJaneLikes » Sat Jun 18, 2005 2:17 pm

I was just playing the intro to JTR and it seems to me like there's a beat or something missing between E3 - G4 and the 1/3 slide.

Could someone tell me if I'm right or am I just hearing something the way Dave plays it that's not actually there?

Thanks.

I'll make an audio of how I play it if that will help you.

Here you go. Its on a six string because I don't have a twelver. Hope it helps.

I think your not playing the G chord before the 1-3 slide long enough.

Even better, I'm playing it on a sixer, myself.

You could be right. I'll try it after I'm done studying (Grade 12 publics...disgusting).

Hey,

Firstly I think you're strumming way too much on it. The way I learned it was I played it with the recording at the same time, and if I went off beat that I would be able to tell right away.

Here's how I do it: http://www.globexdesigns.com/misc/jtr.mp3

Yes, you're strumming two times too fast. (And your guitar is out of tune, just something to look into.)
