So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I've also looked over the tab and just came to the conclusion that it isn't a very guitar-heavy song. That might just be me though.

Here's exactly how Dave plays it

Code: Select all

E:-------------------------------------------------------------
B:-------------------------------------------------------------
G:-------------------------------------------------------------
D:------9--7--6-----6h7--6-----------6--4--2-----2--4--2-------
A:-(7)-----------7----------7---(4)-----------4-----------(4)--
E:-------------------------------------------------------------

    1 4 2 1 2 1_3 1 2 1 4 1 1 3 1 4 1 3
Same notes, different positionnig. Easier to get that fluid sound with this fingering.

The chorus sounds pretty right in the tab already posted. Except that instead of the 1onG...it's really 6onD. That leads to the stretch Dave uses a lot(#34, Satellite, etc...), so it goes(2-4-6-x-x-x).

The breakdown is an Em instead of an E and the 2nd chord is an A-"Dave Chord"(5-4-x-6-x-x)

I saw that on roseland, I should've posted but I was afraid I was wrong.

Wait, shouldn't it be up on A and D? Like so...

Code: Select all

E:----------------------------------------------------------
B:----------------------------------------------------------------
G:----------------------------------------------------------------
D:-------9--7--6-------6h7-------------6--4--2----2--4--2---------
A:--(7)-------------7--------7----(4)-----------4-----------(4)---

I play E without B or E (high) then to Asus without the B or E (high). So...

Code: Select all

E:-----------
B:-----------
G:--1----2---
D:--2----2---
A:--2----0---
E:--0--------
Sounds fine to me.

I used Kanters tab above for the intro and then for the prechorus I used Adwolf's tab which he has labeled as the chorus. Dave doesnt play anything during the verse but for the jam however you can see him lightly play this:

Code: Select all

E
B
G 9 6
D x x
A 7 4
E

now i could be wrong here, but that A chord isnt suspended, its just a A5
For us living any other ways was nuts. with all the goodie-goodies working shitty jobs for bum pay checks, took the subway work and worried about their bills were dead. they were suckers, they had no balls. if we wanted something we just took it, and if anybody complained twice they got hit so hard believe me they never complained again
