I am wondering about the main riff, of course. Is that riff played with a constant up/down strumming motion? I have figured out two types of strumming patterns that could fit the timing, but I still can't get it totally right. I don't know if you guys even know what I'm talking about, but any help will do...

it's pretty much just up and down, and with some muting and slapping involved. (was that vague enough?

)
