So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

ATTN:: Kanter, Question about Best of What's Around Verse

Unread post by billywestom » Wed Mar 26, 2003 1:55 am

on the part "care to share" i have always played what is in the tablature book, with a switch like this:

-----------------
--1---1---1-----
--0---0---x-----
--2---x---2-/--
--3---2---------
-----------------

it seems like it fits, anyone seen dave play this?

there has always been an idea in my head about this....

when you hit that C chord 3 times, and it goes back to the 5 and 7 stuff, i always thought i heard another note or two(could be tim) heres what i do...
i usually hit the C chords twice(you can hit it 3 times too), and then slide to the 7 on the D string and hit it twice, then a 5 on the G string, followed by a 4 on the G string, and then a 5 on the D string, then i continue on with the F and such..., i think it gives it a nice little taste, what i am hearing could be tim, who knows, but, give it a try, sounds cool i think

dude...i totally know what you mean as I once played it like that too, but take it from me...the tab there is right...I have a few solos(92') and its pretty obvious that he plays it like jared has it...late!
