Re: Seriously
i have always loved let you down, it's such a great one. i have listened to that one over and over.
well, dave is the best thing IN music that has ever happened to ME..DmbFanJason wrote:who the fuck doesnt think dave is the best thing that ever happened to music??? I'll fight you!...

althought "let you down" is not one of my tops, i totally agree, i always listen to dave, i cant help it, even when i want to put in something else, i rarely do, and a lot of times i do(besides the panic) i change it soon anyways, Dave is the best, fuck punk bands, fuck country, fuck rap(not dissing ALL of the titles in those styles, but, even the good ones dont touch dave) dave is what get played on my player 75 percent of the time or more, cuz, there just really isnt enough motivation for me to listen to other shit a whole lot
Therefore, in my opinion, Dave IS the BEST THING to ever happen to music
peace

i have to say that dave is in my player 85 percent of the time, seriously. i sometimes rotate in some eminem, chili peppers, rage, others, but NEVER COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!! i still seriously can't understand the popularity of country music, i have tried to understand, i want to understand it, but it just all sounds the same!!! for the life of me i could not pick one singer out from another in country music. ok, back on the topic, dave is in my player most of the time, except in the mornings when im listening to mr. stern.

some of my rotations include, #2, Widespread Panic--im lovin these guys, #3, phish---good shit here and there, and they do some neat shit at their shows,,
the rest, in no particular order----grateful dead, 311, marley, the doors, hendrix, sublime, nirvana, chili peppers, the big wu, jack johnson, string cheese incident, and unisense...
keep in mind these groups occupy no more than 10 to at most 20 percent of my time(well, really never 20) all depends on the mood, and sometimes the people i am with

lol...I am really bad...in California I have no cds other than dave...I have a 12 disk cd player in my car with, yes, 12 DMB cds...I do have other cds like led zep, jimi, pearl jam, etc at home...but they never go in any more...the more I listen to Dave the more I like him...it's not supposed to be that way...it's supposed to be the more you listen to someone, the more you get tired of their music...
without dave I would be on drugs probably...thanks dave!
he's like not even real....it's funny because in my mind, I never truly thought he was a real person until I saw him in concert....I was always like..." no human being can do that..." Seeing Dave walk out onto the stage is the greatest feeling in the world...whenever I recall that moment, I get soo fuckin happy I want to scream...not even hearing him play so much....just watching him come on stage and pick up the guitar like he popped out with a guitar in his hands...if it werent for dave, what the fuck would we all be doing???

oh, and that eerie(sp) silence when we're not sure dave is coming out yet or not, everyone gets all quiet, and in suspense...you are almost scared or something(at least me anyway), because you dont want it to start in fear of it being over...that is the biggest fuckin rush...it's gonna make me have a heart attack one day...anyone feel the same???
yeah dave gets the most for sure but lately ive been listening to alot of "new" music. sometimes its what i need to hear to realize why i listen to dave, and sometimes its just a good break between the consistancy. then there's jeff buckley. sometimes i put him in there for days at a time cuz hes that good. ahh yes, itd be a different world for me musically w/o the dave.

that was the exact same type of experience for me. that even happened when i saw tim. he was my first show ever. it was so strange, cause i got right to the front of the stage, and being in a little club, i could literally reach out and untie his shoe if i wanted. he is so tiny and so amazing, it was..just....odd. then i saw dave for the first time last year, and it was the same thing (only this time not close enough to untie the shoe) it was so wierd seeing him like talking to the other guys, and just doing other stuff besides singing the songs.

you cant describe the feeling just watching him put the strap on and walk around on stage...you just cant do it....and when he suddenly turns around and starts playing the first tune..it's bliss...I was in front row last year, and it was the strangest thing...i dont know why?billywestom wrote:that was the exact same type of experience for me. that even happened when i saw tim. he was my first show ever. it was so strange, cause i got right to the front of the stage, and being in a little club, i could literally reach out and untie his shoe if i wanted. he is so tiny and so amazing, it was..just....odd. then i saw dave for the first time last year, and it was the same thing (only this time not close enough to untie the shoe) it was so wierd seeing him like talking to the other guys, and just doing other stuff besides singing the songs.

didnt see the new topic in there. where was i.
first time i saw dave, i was a mile away at the far end of texas stadium. this guy walked out on stage and the crowd went wild. WAS IT HIM? WAS IT HIM? i dunno. the guy walked off the stage again. coulda been wyclef (opener) and ill never know. but when he did come out it was like i was in the 8th grade again, hearing this stuff for the first time. i didnt really jam to the first few songs cuz it was kinda surreal. ahhh. good times.
