How about a video???

I was talking to a friend yesterday over the phone...we are both huge dave heads and both try to play exactly like dave...Every time we talk he is always like, "play let you down, play What will become of me, play two step, play WWYS, etc..." and so finally he told me, "dude, why dont you make me a vhs of how to play dave songs exactly like dave, I'll pay you $50.00."

so I said, "Sure." I'm not going to charge him fifty bucks, just the amount of money it took to buy the tape, and a little extra for the time spent on amking the video($15.00 or so??)...It would be an up close view of both of my hands playing about 10-12 songs...

Now I know there are gonna be some of these people who are like, "What are doing?!?! You can't make money off of DMB! That's just not right!!!"...ok well, whatever....I know about 2 years ago when I really wanted to play DMB exactly right, I would have paid $100.00 for a video like this...So, if you don't think it's "right", then don't pay attention to this. Or if it's illegal...I have seen others do the same thing(that weren't exact) and nobody ever said anything to them...

I will put up a audio clip of the songs I will be playing just so you get an idea that I'm not trying to give out bullshit, and that it is very accurate...

yes, that is true, but some people have complained about there not being both hands shown, and that they are not completely accurate...I listen to the videos, and while they are very good(as jared is a very good/accurate guitar player), I could find little things to tweak etc.......like I said, if you don't like it, then don't pay any attention to it....it's just that I know two years ago, I would have loved to have a video like this...esp. that I could view on my TV...peace...

I don't really have to do it, but I just thought maybe some of you guys would like it...trust me it would save a buttload of time on trying to learn it...maybe even years, as it took me... :oops:

There is a video that already exists like this, called something like play it like Dave Matthews Band. You can find it on ebay.

It's not bad and provides tabs as well. The guy on the video is really scary, like someone out of Deliverance.

yes...I have seen this video, but it's not completely accurate...it sounds very close, but not quite...I could provide nothing but the best!!!

Jason, Cricket said to be patient....that is because that very idea that you had is currently in the works. I guess it was going to get out eventually and I hope that this can be kept within our own little community here....just so that it makes a bigger splash when the idea does hit...but oh well....here goes......check out the following thread I just made:

As for that video....someone on the boards sent it to me(sorry to whoever it was...just forgot) but it is TERRIBLE. I turned it on....almost threw up from looking at the guy....watched for maybe 2minutes MAX...turned it off.....walked over to the wall, banged my head a few times. Then sat in the corner crying for at least an hour trying to forget what I just saw. Well, I didn't do all that....but it was TERRIBLE....ABSOLUTELY THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. I am sorry to whoever has ever bought that thinking they wanted to learn DMB material. The tabs were WAY off and they don't even use song names(for copyright reasons). As for the tape.....after those initial 2 minutes of watching, it has been sitting behind my dresser where I threw it so no one would ever be subjected to viewing it again....peace

those videos, that you banged your head over, were actually pretty good I thought Jared...he sounded pretty damn close to me...but like I said, there are a few things out that I can put in that would make a difference...as with all the videos I have seen...I don't want to make it into a contest or anything, but I'm gonna go ahead and do my thing with the videos, as I feel very confident in my ability to play Dave exact(not sing..eh hem)...here's a link to the other guys videos...they are pretty good i think...you be the judge of which one sounds best? peace all...
