Instead of
Code: Select all
Intro
E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:-----2-------------------
D:---------3---5-5--2-3-2--
A:-5-----------------------
E:-------------------------
Change it to
Code: Select all
E:-------------------------
B:-------------------------
G:-----2--------0-0----------
D:-0--------3--------2-3-2--
A:-------------------------
E:-------------------------
Likewise, for the verse instead of:
Code: Select all
Verse
E:----------------------------------------------------------------------
B:----------------------------------------------------------------------
G:-----2--------------------3-------------------2-----------------------
D:---------3---5-5--2-3-2---x---5-5--2-3-2---------------3--0--2--------
A:-5------------------------1----------------5-----3--1-----------3--0--
E:--------------------------3-------------------------------------------
Play:
Code: Select all
Verse
E:----------------------------------------------------------------------
B:----------------------------------------------------------------------
G:-----2--------0-0---------3---0-0-------------2-----------------------
D:-0--------3--------2-3-2--x--------2-3-2--0-------------3--0--2--------
A:--------------------------1----------------------3--1-----------3--0--
E:--------------------------3-------------------------------------------
If your guitar is tuned properly it sounds the same

If thats what is most comfortable for you, then go ahead and play it that way.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Haha.
I hate playing it that way. The normal was is much easier to get to sound percussively, but to each his own.

I don't see how the 0-0 to 2-3-2 on separate strings is even doable to sound close to what is right.

They are the same notes, just not the way Dave plays them.

I know that, I meant like it'll be hard to get the right rhythm...

Its very easy; much easier to get it to sound right when you first start playing rather than having to practice 100000x

But I agree that playing it the real way will help you much more than this; the real version makes you stretch it which is useful for Dave songs

im kinda impartial on the whole play exactly like dave thing, first of all because i do my best to play every song the right way but secondly, because i remember what it was like learning to play guitar. When i frist started out songs like ants marching seemed difficult as well as the stretch on billies. JUST PRACTICE, the songs are wriiten the way they are for a reason, after awhile songs like Billies become easier to play just from muscle memory. PRACTICE!!!!!
