Well, I dunno what's goin on here...I've tried to contribute this more than once, but i never hear back from any of the mods and it hasn't been added to the site????

So anyways, figured I'd post it here because I think this pretty close to what dave plays at luther crest. Sounds more accurate than the sites...the site's is great and all, but it's just to close to PNP for me. I think this is easy and has a sweeter and more consitent sound. Let me know what you guys think.

Main Riff
Very similar to what's on the site (same chords used), however I don't dip down to the lower frets.

Variations to add on the main riff
I mix it up with these variations while playing this song. I'm not sure if I hear all of them on
Live at Luther...but they work and add a nice touch to this beautiful song.

Variation on the second chord - what's used in PNP.

Variation 2.

Variation on the second chord; just add a pull from the 8th fret to the 5th fret.
Listen to the L@LC version to get the timing of the pull down.

Same chord shapes as I use in the main riff, but for the last chord just
move your pinky up to the 7th fret on the D string.

I hear Dave end it this way...

The timing of the last chord switch is exactly the same as the timing of the
pull in variation 2.


Experiment with different combos of these variations. I usually always play with
the pull, and often through the ending riff in the midst of the song.

ick, i dont like the fingering for that second chord... it sounds ok for the most part. im used to playing it this way:

It's the same thing as what's listed on the site and used in PNP...i dunno, I'm used to playing it though so my hands just go there. I just liek this tab because I personally feel it has a much cleaner and sweeter sound (no open strings such as the pull off from 3-0 in the site's tab). I also love the versatitlity it gives me.

Any other thoughts??? 52 looks and no replies....do you guys even PLAY the guitar?? jk...

it's cool....I just gave another listen..you may be right, but essentially it's the same chords. I like the sound of fretted notes better than open, so that's one reason I play it like this. And all in all, again, I just like the versatility of playing it like this...allows for more creative freedom playing, you can kinda put your own spin on it.

Maybe I should change the title...not the lutehr crest version, but just an alternative

i dont know, i tend to like the way dave plays it, although most of the time i dont use the same fingerings, they seem harder than they need to be. so i play the smae notes that he does, but not he same fingerings of the chords...
