#41 acoustic
#41 acoustic
when i listen to this song on L@LC, when he starts the verse, he seems to be playing the chords in the intro. i think that when you play it solo, if you use the tab on this site that it sounds not full enough, like you should be hitting more strings. does anyone know if dave plays it different solo, or is it just me.

i believe he plays the same chords as on this site during the verse he just strums them more. he changes the rhythm up but with the same chords.gravesRR7 wrote:when i listen to this song on L@LC, when he starts the verse, he seems to be playing the chords in the intro. i think that when you play it solo, if you use the tab on this site that it sounds not full enough, like you should be hitting more strings. does anyone know if dave plays it different solo, or is it just me.

at least that's how i play it....notes arn't the only thing that can "fill" the sound. strums, slaps, traps. ya know, the way Dave does it.

A few years ago I saw this tab for #41 on L@LC. I have no idea what website it was on.
I didn't include the picking or fills because I'm lazy.

Code: Select all
--3---2---3-------
--3---3---0---3---
--5--(4)--0---0---
--5---4---2---4---
--0---2---2---5---
----------0-------
I think that tab came from nancies.org where all the tab is wrong including that one. At least that was my experience. In fact, that is how I found this site. I saw a post in their froum from kanter with a link.bugman96 wrote:A few years ago I saw this tab for #41 on L@LC. I have no idea what website it was on.

It is on nancies.org, but that's not where I saw it because I didn't go to nancies.org then. Regardless, I think what I posted sounds closer to the Luther College #41 than the normal way.4mbi3nt wrote: I think that tab came from nancies.org where all the tab is wrong including that one. how could it possibly sound closer, when it's not the way he plays it? dave never "changes" the way he plays a song, as far as a complete change of chords. strumming, picking, slapping, that may change, but not the chords that he uses. this only happens when doing an album.bugman96 wrote:It is on nancies.org, but that's not where I saw it because I didn't go to nancies.org then. I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

First, what I posted were not complete change of chords. They're the same chords, different voicings.
Second, have you ever asked Dave if he noodles around with different chord voicings while playing live?
Third, is it not possible that what I posted could be what Tim is playing on L@LC and could account for the "fullness" that the original poster was looking for?
