Spoon question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Spoon question

Unread post by jsgksu » Mon Mar 10, 2003 4:28 pm

I just tried to learn this song today and the very beginning of the verse is kinda confusing me. Do you play the first 4 chords once each and switch real fast? Also that c chord sounds weird, maybe its because I dont really have the rhythm right. I dont have an acoustic version of the song on my computer but Im gonna look for one. Can anyone answer these questions or post a clip or something. Thanks.

i dont know how to say it without a clip but you dont have to switch too fast. 2 chords go together (1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th etc) those are the only ones you have to switch somewhat fast. 1st - 2nd (pause) 3rd - 4th etc... i know it wont help too much but it might.

for the very first chord, i strum down then up, followed by one downstroke of the next chord. then i strum a few times for kicks on the 2nd chord. I'm not sure if this is right, but for the next chord, the 3rd one, i strum down up down up. For the 4th I strum down up down up down. Thats pretty much how the rest of it goes. Like I said before, thats just how i play it so im not sure if its right.

Nevermind, it just came to me a couple of minutes ago, I can play it now. Thanks for the responses though.
