So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Unread post by JustAnotherAnt » Mon Dec 13, 2004 8:22 am

Does anyone here have any tips to get used to stretching further. Namely for the riffs in #41 and Tripping Billies, You know which chords I mean lol. Any tips would be great.

just keep playing it

if you're having a ton of trouble, try capoing up a few frets to get the stretches now, then when you're comfortable there, come back down
B+P by offer only...thank you

for the big streches for the chords in #41 position your pinkey and ring finger first and then strech your index and middle fingers back to fret the other two notes.

it's just easier to strech that way than placing your index an middle finger and trying to strech the way.

A good excercise to stretch your fingers is When your not doing anything like sitting on the computer reading these or at school just...fuck this is hard to explain...while sitting down put your fingers on your legs splitting the to either side of your legs this willl stretch them out worked good for me. If this makes any sense fuck I wish I had a web cam haha

For #41, just play it like this, you can get the same sound. Then as your hand develops, you can play it right later.

Intro
E:--------------------------------
B:----------------8---3--3----3----
G:---5-----7-----x---x--0h4-x----
D:---x-----x-----5---4--x----0h4--
A:---3-----5---7-7---5--5----5----
E:-5-5--7-7----------------------

The Germans discovered it in 1904, and they called it "San Diego", which in German means "whale's vagina". Ron Burgundy

Be sure to relax. Any excess tension in your body will cause problems.
Hold any chord that gives a good comfortable stretch and try to relax and breath deeply. Be aware of where you tend to tighten up. Then you increase the stretch and repeat.
I know this sounds like hippy propaganda but it's very important.
