Salisbury Hill

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Salisbury Hill

Unread post by Loki » Sun Nov 28, 2004 12:40 pm

So basically im looking for an accurate tab of Salisbury Hill (often incorrectly spelled "Solsbury Hill"), Dave does a cover, but its originally by Peter Gabriel. Was wondering if either A) Someone knew of an accurate tab out there in web land, or B) Someone could tab it out. Either would be a big help. Cheer.

I'm fairly confident it's spelled Solsbury Hill..I've seen it on D&F setlists labled like that I believe

A Tab, I cannot help you with as I've never seen one

Peter Gabriel CD saying it's spelled solsbury hill: Here

yeah i thought the same at first. I often use bit torrent to download concerts, and there was a D&F concert in Boston at the Fleet Center. The song was listed as "Solsbury Hill", but the original by Peter Gabriel is in fact titled "Salisbury Hill", look her up.

I did check the link, I also looked it up further (in the past I found a site correcting the spelling,) and its spelled both ways all over the place. But I'm leaning back towards Solsbury, seeing as there is a Solsbury hill just outside Bath in England. Meanwhile there is a Salisbury *Plain* which is where Stonehenge is located. Oh well, that really isn't the point of the post though. Thanks for the clarification though.

If you're trying to be an ass to me, take it somewhere else. I'm not gonna argue over it. I said I didn't know of any tabs, and corrected his statement by finding him a link of a peter gabriel cd..

no, I'm not trying to be an ass. it was my way of complimenting you on how you handled the situation. notice the winking emoticon which usually signifies a light-hearted tone. there are a lot of people on these boards that would have reemed his ass, but I, and aparently you are not that way. in conclusion, settle down.

Woah. Who knew an innocent post could be taken so far. I was wrong, and admit that, but the purpose of the post seems to have been circumvented. I was just looking for a tab, whilst trying to address a possible spelling issue. Things have gotten outta hand, reem my ass, woah.

Can I get some gravy with my Salisbury Hill?

Come on, really? Salisbury Hill? This song is of course entitled Solsbury Hill and it has been said that this song is about Peter's split from Genesis.

-Not to be confused with Genosis.

Finally, the tab is not too tough, it's online, search for it. It's appregiated chords, G and C and D and I believe it's with a capo.

Peace,

CJT

And by the way, I'm pretty sure Dave doesn't play anything when DM+F covered it.
