...you go along and pop in the L@LC cd....my goodness...I should play with the cd more often. I "knew" the songs...and played the tabs from my song memory...but man..when you REALLY listen and play with it....the key is in daves strumming. For example....I just spent about a half hour playing 2 step over and over again to get that strumming right...once you nail it - it sound perfect. But the whole time..I still wanna go into a more traditional strum...aghh anyone know what I'm talking about.
Anyways....for those of you that feel you got a good grasps on alot of dave's songs...I highly suggest popping in a cd every now and again. The rhythm and strumming are so important!

My "gitter" was my best investment

You think thats bad, buy a Dave DVD or VHS, I bought the Listener Supported DVD and not only did I hear the little differences but I saw them too, I thought I could play Jimi Thing fine till I saw it on there, he just throws so much other little shit in all his songs, it blew my mind.

You guy's can't get discouraged. You know how everyone compares dmb to the gratefuldead and phish to dmb, the reason is it's all about jamming. Dave plays, sings, and segues into his songs different all the time. If you play Dave shit and it doesn't sound exactly the way the cd, vhs, or dvd sounds but it sounds good to you and your friends or just you by yourself and you are jamming than you have accomplished more than most. I believe dave writes and progresses the way he does is to get people who love to play, to play with their heart, mind, and soul. Any guitarist can moch another guitarist, but for a brilliant guitarist to give us options to change the material he has written into something that can elevate our hearts and minds, well that is the inspiration we need. My advice is to let this site educate your mind and grasp a sense of progression and lyricism. Honest people will not adhere to bullshit thats why dave can reach us all mentally, physically, and spiritually. Let yourself learn and create on your own what you feel need be explained.
