What You Are

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

What You Are

Alright, I dont really care for songs off of the Everday cd but I am finding myself to be obsessed with this song lately (What You Are). I tried to play the standard tuning version of the song on this site and I cant really get the rhythm down for the verse, could anyone post a quick audio clip or something for me. Thanks in advance for any help.

Disclaimer: there is a drunk on the boards, name is lordmelt, replies may be somewhat distorted

whats up, i am usually wasted at night so my night time posts tend to be off at times, but, what i found worked for the verse, was turn the treble way up, the bass way down(or live setting if you have winamp), and listen to it(guitar part) over and over, you hear a few catches and gradually can jam the rhythm pretty well, just my two cents, if that helps at all
the ground beneath is nothing more than one point of view

i dont want to wake up, lost in the dreams of our fathers

Here's an mp3 of WYA I did last month.....I know there are a couple of things I need to change (like the tempo), but I just haven't gotten around to it. It's in standard tuning.

ironmike....when you're playing the fill are you muting the surrounding strings (like in warehouse) or just strumming the one string?
