timing question

timing question

ok, so in If I had a Boat, the chorus is in 4/4 time, but it sounds like the verse is in something else. 4/4 doesn't quite seem to work in the verse. if anyone can give it a listen and tell me what the meter is for the If I had a Boat verse, that would be awesome. i'm doing a project for school and want to use this song.
