I dont have a camera or anything but Ill see if this helps.

Code: Select all

E:--------------------------
B:--------------------------
G:----6/8---8--8----8----8--
D:----6/8---6--6----6----6--
A:-------------4----x----6--
E:-4----------------6-------
All right, hit the 4 once on a down strum, then slide from the six to the 8 on a downstrum, then strum up down up on the eight. Now for the rest of the measure you hit a downstrum, downstrum, upstrum, downstrum, upstrum. If that makes sense that it should help, if not let me know and Ill try to help with an audio attachment or something.

Ok, here goes

Code: Select all

E:--------------------------
B:--------------------------
G:----6/8---8--8----8----8--
D:----6/8---6--6----6----6--
A:-------------4----x----6--
E:-4----------------6-------
from the start have your pointer finger on the E string 4 and your ring and pinky on the --66-- then slide to --88-- your pinky finger is not going to leave the G string. Next for the --68-- part your middle finger goes to the 6 on the D string. And for the next three chord changes your middle finger and pinky stay where they are and your pointer finger plays the 3 notes that change. Does that makes sense, I feel like Im making it harder than it is, let me know.

Strumming

Unread post by CPTino3001 » Thu Feb 20, 2003 1:14 pm

I've tried strumming like he does on the video...does he just start each change with a few downstrums?

Yes everytime he changes chords theres two downstrums then up down up. I hope that helps, its not really that hard, I could probably send you a sound file or something if it would help.

Your welcome Jebro.

Any other questions about songs, I feel like helping now.

Do I carry the same pattern into the "Rest high above..." section?

Kinda, you start with a single downstrum on the 6688-- then you go to the next chord and play down, down, up, down, up, down, down, up, down, up down, down, up. Play that for the next two chords. Then hit the -466-- part once again, then back through. Try to throw some muted strums inbetween chord changes. Once again if this is confusing I can make an audio file.

Maybe this will help a little. I threw this together for ya with only a couple of run-throughs and it's not as smooth as I'd like, but I'm heading out for the night and wanted to give you something. I think it should help, please let me know.

The way Ironmike played it isnt exactly the way I described playing it, though it does sound right too. If that helps, good, if not I can post an audio file my way, lemme know.

here's how i play the chorus:

satellite
e:------------------------
b:------------------------
g:----8/8--8----8----8-- repeat 4x's
d:----4/6--6----6----6--
a:----------4----x----6--
e:-4-------------6--------

that's pretty much the same way "jsgksu" plays it, a little different in the begining. 4 and 6 is pointer and pinky, then 468 is pointer, middle and pinky, then 6x68 is pointer, middle and pinky and then 668 is pointer on 66 and pinky on the eight. a good way to get the strumming for the bridge is to watch storytellers, right in the begining he's playin' the bridge.
"They called it Aspen because "buttpencil" was already taken."

--my little brother(stoned 1st time :) )

"A commom mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is underestimating the ingenuity of complete fools." --Ford Prefect

"Don't forget to bring a towel." --Towlie

that's how I play it which is ever so slightly different than the other ones posted.
