question about blue water tab?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Unread post by Baylorboy » Sun Aug 01, 2004 1:22 pm

On the blue water tab after you play the 2nd fret on the a string then you move to the d string and slide from 2 to 4 and back to 2 do you play the 4th fret note or do you just slide up and then back down to 2? i know this is kind of confusing sorry. thanks

dont hit the 4, just slide from the 2 to the 4 then back to the 2. its all in one pick - 2/4\2.

I play this song quite a bit, but I don't focus on the guitar, I focus on the lyrics. It's about suicide, and I know a lot about that, so I love to sing it. Also, the sliding and picking stuff, I have heard many differen't versions of the song, and it seems to be more improv, but I bet the vid Jared has, he plays that way. So, just fool around, is what I say. Of course, it is just the chords when the lyrics start.

You can MAKE this song really fun to play. Fill out the chords a bit, add in some fills, play with the time signature... its simple nature provides GREAT room for expansion!

RT, the song that does that for me is Wallflower off of Peter Gabriel's third release and first "titled" release Security.

It hurts to hear that song, but it also helps heal. Thought I might share.

Peace,
