lap steel intro...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Stefan is the least noticed in the band (from what I see), yet I think he is more talented than Dave or Boyd.

You know, in the early days, he said they should play some Nirvana. Dave said, "who?"

Haha, Nirvana! I can see dave now, "With the Lights out, it's less dangerous!" And then an awesome Boyd solo.

Well, in the early days of DMB, 1991 or around there, nirvana weren't extremely popular yet, not until they released Nevermind

How do we not know that Dave won't bust out some Nirvana covers in the future? I could see him playing Polly or Come as You Are. Maybe even Smells Like Teen Spirit! Watchtower is an awesome DMB cover, and I'd like to see Dave rock out to Teen Spirit in the same fashion! That'd be sweet! Who knows, maybe Steffan will be jammin to a Nirvana CD one day and Dave will be hooked!

Street Spirit (radiohead) would be the best cover...

you just don't know it yet...

I'm not so sure. When I saw them in Hartford last August, it was the kind on a stand like a keyboard - the same thing Robert Randolph plays.

edit: On the studio version, it's most likely a dobro.

on the Grace Is Gone video on the Gorge dvd, Stefan is high up on a hill with a regular steel guitar sitting on his lap.
