when the low E and G strings are both on the same fret, like Grey Street and stop part of Granny, do you always use the 3rd finger for the low E like the Dave STyle lessons indicate. I've seen sometimes where people are using the #1 finger alot of the low E. and do you always mute the A & D strings with the finger on the low E
i want to get this down since its in alot of his songs
thanks!

I was just wondering if you'd come along. Please tell me, you will.
I'm pretty sure you should use your first finger on the lower E and your 2nd or 3rd finger on G depending on what chord you're playing. Aren't they tabbed that way? Anyway, that's what I do...and I think Dave does it too. The A and D-strings will be muted by your first finger if you do this.
The first chords of the tripnblis-intro would look like this:

Code: Select all

G:-2---4---- 2nd finger on 2, and 4th finger on 4
