Does anyone else notice this?????
When Dave does the slide in the main riff of Granny, does anyone else notice the timing is always different? I can get it right sometimes but not others. Am i crazy or does this happen to anyone else when they are playing along to the song?

the timing is constant. it's just wierd. so you aren't crazy, but just finding it difficult to get it completely right every time, which is completely understandable.

i agree, he hits it at the same time, however it's not when you would expect him to. you would expect him to slide a half beat to a beat sooner than he does, but he delays the slide. it's hard to get a handle on, it took me lots of listens to get it right.ticohans wrote:the timing is constant. it's just wierd. so you aren't crazy, but just finding it difficult to get it completely right every time, which is completely understandable.

it does sound different because hes playing it different
hes using the same notes
he just switches earlier every couple of times instead of playing the muted strings and then he hangs on for a second before sliding back
listen to an acoustic version to hear what im talkin about
Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

You can really notice it on L@LC. He alternates between two patterns each time, so it's like 1-2-1-2. The first time he strums twice on 0
5
7
before dropping down to 0
2
3
The second time he doesn't do the little extra strum on 0
5
7
but instead adds an extra strum on the 0
2
3
right before picking the low E on 3 and 2. It's probably easier to figure it out yourself than it is trying to understand this though! Sorry, I've never attempted tabs before.

the ents were definitely my favorite part of the book, and while the movie didn't do them justice, they were my favorite part of the movie too (don't know if anyone caught it, but when the ent that was on fire dove into the water to extinguish himself, priceless.)EntsMarching wrote:Appreciated!jpittman wrote:<thread hi-jack>
I think EntsMarching has the best username on this forum.
Just thought I'd point that out.

"Treebeard" is the best chapter in LOTR.
