SUAD drop D?

Unread post by You_Enjoy_Myself » Wed May 26, 2004 9:40 pm

I just learnt Sweet up and down the other day, and I tried playing it in standard tuning with my 6th string at E. Now it does make the jam a little tougher to play correctly, but all the other sections can be easily changed. It might just be me, but I find this way more comfortable and it doesn't really matter because you never really have the dropped D ringing anyways, if you're playing it in dropped d.

Its personal preference. If you want the low E string open, keep it in standard. It all depends on how much bass you prefer.

I think Dave made it Drop-D so he can do the one-finger walk up.

yeah, its easy enough to play both ways. i usually don't bother puting my guitar in drop d. as for the walk up part, i have a cool way of playing it. i'll tab it out when i get home if i remember.

It was from when we went to the gorge last year and it was like 100 degrees out there and they wouldn't let us bring in our own water. We asked the lady at the gate why not, and she said that Dave had personally requested that no one bring in their own water. I highly fucking doubt that though. Then once we got in, the price of water was $4!!!!!! US!!!!!!!! Us poor canadians had to share one.
