I've been playing #41 for awhile and have it down but just want to perfect the verse. When Dave plays the 7-8, is he muting all other strings and strumming? Or is he just strumming the G and B? Thanks ahead for the help.
Code: Select all
Verse
E:------------------------
B:---8-----8-----8-----8-- <---4
G:---7-----7-----7-----7-- <---3
D:------------------------
A:------------7-----5-----
E:-5----7-----------------
1 2 2 1

I'm pretty sure that dave mutes all the other strings.
I've been playing it that way and it sounds way better. I just tried it without muting anything and it sounds pretty bad

okay, but obvioulsy he's not strumming all 6 strings. aim towards the bottom of your guitar and mute what you have to.

dave mutes with the full band, strums open with D&T.

Yah I just mute the A and D with my middle finger and drop my wrist a bit so my pinkie mutes the E string while fretting it at the 8th. Sounds Purty!

When I play #41 solo, I like to throw in the bass line too... sounds pretty good.
Code: Select all
Verse
E:-------------------------------------------
B:---8----------8----------8----------8----
G:---7----------7----------7----------7-----
D:-------------------------------------------
A:-----------------5--6--7----7--6--5------
E:-5---5--6--7----------------------------7--
Try it out and let me know what you think.

tried it, kinda like it, but i really love the part where dave switches from the verse back to the intro at the end, like in L@LL. now all i gotta do is find myself a tim.

I mess around with the normal intro chords and the picked chords timmy uses on the crash version.

Doesn't Dave do those chords always when he finishes the last chorus? Everytime I've seen the song live, he does it.
. . . just checked it, the tab says the jam is the same as the intro also
