Big Whiskey Tabs (so far)

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Has anyone had a chance to check out any of the D&T versions of the Big Whiskey songs, specifically SMLAM? There are a couple videos up on youtube from Vegas and it looks like Dave is playing something slightly different from the previously posted tabs, at least for SMLAM. If anyone can get a tab off these videos that would awesome.

Thanks!

Pretty much what I said about Funny The Way It Is in this thread http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=35716 - I'd love to see tabs for these versions, because they're, you know, supposed to sound like THAT when played w/o the band ;)

If at loss for a capo, here's the Baby Blue intro. I think it sounds better anyway....

Intro
e|--------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------3------4-------------------------
G|------3h5-----5---------------------1-----------------
D|-------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------

e|--------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------3------4-------------------------
G|------3h5-----5---------------------0-----------------
D|-------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------

e|---------------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------3------4--------------------------------
G|------3h5-----5-------------------------------------3----0---
D|--------------------------------------0----2---3--------------
A|---------------------------------------------------------------
E|----------------------------------------------------------------

(repeat) only thing that changes is last open G string is now first fret on G string, then goes into verse

I've messed around with some of the tabs for the Big Whiskey songs here. Some seem to be pretty accurate and some don't quite seem right. Has anyone spent the time to try these tabs out, watch some videos of Dave playing from last summer, and put together all the legit BW tabs in one place yet?

I was thinking about doing it over the next week or so but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time doing something that someone has already done.

Basically something like the first post in the Complete Stand Up tabs thread.

sounds like a good idea...I think everything has been nailed down (in an easy-to-read tab format) except Dive In, Squirm, and Seven...a few searches on here should get you the missing tabs

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Don't lose your dinosaur

This is what I'm hearing for the intro to #27:

Code: Select all

e|--------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------|
G|--4p2-0-2h4---2-0------4p2-0-0h2---4p2-0----|
D|------------------2----------------------2--|
A|--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------|x2
with this played behind it by a 2nd guitar:

Code: Select all

e|--------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------|
G|--------2-----2-0------------2-----2---0----|
D|--2-----2-----2-0-2----2-----2-----2---0-2--|
A|--2-----0---------2----2-----0-----------2--|
E|--0---------------0----0-----------------0--|x2
I'm at work listening to my iPod (without my guitar) but this has to be close....

I think Tim's intro to 'Funny The Way It Is' is something like this:

Code: Select all

e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----14--10------14--10--12--9------12--9------12--9--10--7-----9------|
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|

I like to play the little into riff in Write A Song like this:

Code: Select all

-------------0-------------------------------
-------------3------------------------------
----------0--2--0----------------------------
-0--2--4-----0-----4---0--3-3/5--3-3h5p3--0--
--------------------------3-3/5--3-3h5p3--0--
--------------------------3-3/5--3-3h5p3--0--

Anyone have dave's solo for Funny the way it is? I've seen one on here, but from watching videos, I don't think its right. It seems that timmy starts the solo on the A or D string on the 3rd fret sliding to the 5th. Anyway, if anyone has it and can post it, it would be most appreciated. CHEERS!
