Big Whiskey Tabs (so far)

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

dave plays chords during the rundown on Funny the Way It Is, not individual notes as we have tabbed out on here. Check out the Fuse/Beacon theatre performance.

yup,he plays a mixture of it actually. I put some time into tabbing out the Today Show version and this is actually what I've seen him do in other live performances. He looks like he's playing power chords, but actually he's hitting single notes except for the end of each section.

"Standing on a bridge..." (tabbed from the Today Show performance)

Code: Select all

E--------------------------------------------------------
B--------------------------------------------------------
G--------------------------------------------------------
D--(7)-(7)---3---3----(3)-(3)---(7)-(7)--(5)-(5)---3--2--
A---5---5---(1)-(1)----1---1-----5---5----3---3----3--3--
E--------------------------------------------------1--1--
"Mountains, and motions, and winters, rivers, and stars"

Code: Select all

                                                        ends on:
E---------------------------------------------------- | --0--
B---------------------------------------------------- | --1--
G---------------------------------------------------- | --2--
D--(7)-(7)---3---3----(3)-(3)---(7)-(7)--(5)-(5)--5-- | --2--
A---5---5---(1)-(1)----1---1-----5---5----3---3---5-- | --0--
E-------------------------------------------------3-- | -----

After watching the Jazz Fest, Beacon, Jimmy Fallon, Today Show, and live amateur videos some more, I am sure it is this:

Code: Select all

e-------------------------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------------------------
G------x-x-3-3----5------x--x----------3-3-3-3----5------x----
D--x-x-3-3-x-x----x------3--2------x-x-x-x-x-x----x------5---- x2
A--5-5-----1-1----3------3--3------5-5-----1-1----3------5----
E------------------------1--1----------------------------3----
The first two are just single notes, but the next two are octave chords. He also plays the G power chord twice.

Write a Song that was posted on ants. It's a little more complete than the one posted on page 4.

It seems like the 9--8--9 bit in the second line should be 8--7--8. At least, that's the way I'm hearing it.

Is there a tab for Dive In (not just the solo)?

I just heard the D&T version of it and liked it a lot more, wouldn't mind learning it.
