I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

Count me in for a purchase
I think that the DVD is an excellent idea, and will be favorably viewed by fans of Dave Matthew's. I'm currently an MBA student and recognize the effort to get this off of the groud. Hats of to Kanter. I'll buy a DVD to support the cause.
It's also good to hear that DMB management is accommodating the development of the DVD. Even thought they're taking royalties, I think it's fair... plus the price of the DVD is worth the convenience and quality of the instruction. I'm also a big fan of Jars of Clay and their acoustic playing style. However, their philosophy appears to be 'hush-hush' when it comes to disclosing tablature for their songs. I'm not sure the reason for this. I think it may be because their self titled album is played almost entirely using EABEBE tuning, which gives it its unique sound. Maybe if the guitar community realized how easy their songs were to play in this tuning, they would thing less of the music. Of course, I don't personally believe this and think the music is great. As for playing Dave songs, his style is so interesting and innovative... it's difficult to mimic, even with tablature. Dmbtabs is the best on the web for learning Dave's percussive style.

Ha....yeah man, it's my room in the fraternity house. If you look closely in the first set of video's, you can see that's my bar in the background. Then right at the top is one of the nice rock glasses that my roomate bought. That can be seen mostly on the Lover Lay Down Chorus. You can see the bar also in the other video's......collllllllllllleeeeeeeeggggggggeeeeeee....habillywestom wrote:oh yer probably right, i wasnt sure if he was in collegesnoopdoug1 wrote:HAHAHAHAHA! No man, don't worry....I completly understand that you are anxious. The truth is that I know everything about what songs I am doing.....right now I am waiting on DMB Management's approval for the licenses. I have e-mailed the guy a bunch of times asking about status and gotten back that it's in going through the process right now. It's been about 2 weeks since my last e-mail to him....which I got back a reply where he was pisesd off I was asking him again. It's not going to affect me getting it but he was just like, shane wrote:jared hows the DVD going? are you just planning stuff (choosing what songs) now or..?- just curious - dont answer if you dont want to... im a bit anxious about this. lol.
"If you need to know NOW..then no, you don't have the licenses. I'm working as fast as possible but it's out of my hands right now. The people who have it now work slow...please be patient."
I will be posting a huge news update about it when the new layout and HUGE update is upon us.....----->VERY VERY SOON!!! Enjoy all

Just so you know (in case you haven't figured it out yourself yet), record execs make things as tedious as they possibly can.
It is like they deliberately try to piss people off....
Realistically, they could make a few phone calls, and get approval.
But instead they need to leave these proposals on somebody's desk for 6 months.
