Strumming on So Damn Lucky

Unread post by djwhd28 » Tue Jun 28, 2005 2:00 am

Pat,

I've just found this board and your videos. Jesus, what chops! I've been looking at your vid for SDL and I can not get the strumming pattern. Do you have a version with rihgt hand showing how in thell you coordinate that with the hammerons and the syncopation of the left hand?

You stuff is wonderful, man. You must be a monster player by now.

Thanks.

hey pat, could you write out your tab for crush for standard tunning?
For us living any other ways was nuts. with all the goodie-goodies working shitty jobs for bum pay checks, took the subway work and worried about their bills were dead. they were suckers, they had no balls. if we wanted something we just took it, and if anybody complained twice they got hit so hard believe me they never complained again

Why would you play Crush in standard? You'd lose all the bassy stuff needed for the end jam.

*sigh* drop d is just much better for the song

edit: and to simply convert it into standard tuning drop the bottom string notes 2 frets down. (so when it was in drop d, the frets on the d string would go down 2 frets i.e. 2xxxxx in drop d would now be 0xxxxx)

make the 7th fret on the low E match the sound of the open A sting and youre in drop d, its simple. dont play Crush in regular tuning.

pat, on your tab for swallowed in the sea. it seems to me that in the chorus the G#m just doesn't sound right. can you clarify this chord to be the right one. i cant find another chord that sound right.
