Dave and breaking strings...

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

In 99 at the Des Moines D&T show Dave broke a string during Lie In Our Graves. Tim picked up the verse part without missing a beat, and Dave just kept singing, while Monk came out with a new guitar and switched him, without Dave even backing away from the mic.

Also, in the Too Much video, near the very end, you can see Dave has a broken string on his Chet.

Tim's the man, nuff said.

Also, I was wondering... During the Utah show, Dave broke his G string during Rhyme and Reason so he stopped playing but the main guitar kept going in the background, my friend said he thought it was Stefan but I think it was a recording.... thoughts?

I can say with 99.873% certainty that it was not a recording and was most likely someone else taking up the slack. Do you have a pull of this show? If so, post an mp3 of this song and we'll take a listen.

And oddly enough, it was on a very mellow part during someone else's solo.
