Oh jeez, you're right. I just assumed we were talking about strumming - my bad. By yes, when using a pick and playing a fast lick or something of the sort, your pinky is anchored. In fingerstyle playing, nothing is anchored. As cruz said, it's a bad habit.

hmm well i will be working on that one then, luckily the main time i anchor is doing just those quick licks u mentioned ( i guess it is to ensure quick recovery after ever pick) thanks for the helpdmbguitar718 wrote:Oh jeez, you're right.
