Is the "Die Trying" solo correctly tabbed? For the life of me I can't get it to sound like the studio version.

I think on Roseland, Dave was playing it.

It is dave playing it. I tried to play the solo on my guitar and the notes aren't the same in the second stanza.

i doubt anyone will ever see this message but here it goes anyway. I think in the Dreamgirl chorus, instead of a 6/7 it should be a 6h7. From Roseland in the second chorus you can see that he doesnt really shift his hand at that point. minor but then again, some people here get really insistant about playing it EXACTLY as Dave does

Dave plays it live and Boyd plays it on the album.

I believe on American Baby also there's a slide where there's supposed to be a hammer. On the Rove video you can see at the end of the second section where he does it that it should be like this - I've added the fingering below in case it helps

Code: Select all

e-----------------|-----------------|
b-----------------|---2h3-2---------|
g-------2-4---4---|-----------------|
d---0-4-----2-----|-4---------------|
a---------------2-|-----------------|
E-----------------|-----------------|

* + * + * + * + * + * + * + * +
      4 1 4 1 4 1   4 1_2 1

e-----------------|-----------------|
b-----------------|---2h3-2-3/5-----|
g-------2-4---4---|-----------------|
d---0-4-----2-----|-4---------------|
a---------------2-|-----------------|
E-----------------|-----------------|

* + * + * + * + * + * + * + * +
      4 1 4 1 4 1   4 1_2 1 2

good call there, i think i was just careless writing the tab because i play it with the hammer-on, not the slide.. but i'm not sure about your Dream Girl comment, because i'm seeing 6h7 in my tab, not 6/7

hmmm... I really think there was a slide there a few days ago because I checked back after i wrote the first comment and noticed that it had been changed... maybe I am just going crazy.. regardless, it's correct now so good job

I'm hoping that everyone already knows that Lousiana Bayou is played on Dave's baritone guitar? If you didn't I saw him last night and tuesday and I didn't know this until the concert.

The video I have of Dave playing it from Roseland has him playing it on his normal 914 acoustic. Has he switched it up??? Any more confirmation?

He plays it on his Jerry Jones Baritone. Maybe he has it tuned standard?
